Old Oak Housing Association recently organised a day trip to Clacton on Sea for its residents. The event was a great success with children, residents and staff alike having a wonderful day out. Although the weather during the month of August was quite unreliable, the sun came out and stayed out, allowing all to enjoy some sizzling Summer temperatures.

Some ventured to the beach, others bought souvenirs from the local shops, whilst some enjoyed traditional fish and chips and took in the sea air.

Tenants remarked,

“Being on the seafront was the best aspect of the trip for me and I was able to get to know other people that live nearby”

“The trip was well organised, very clean and comfortable coach, and everyone was pleasant. Very well done”

The scenic journey to and from Clacton on Sea went through some lovely countryside and a change of scene was appreciated by all.

Lola Aroun commented “This annual event is now in its second year. We know how popular a day trip to the seaside is for families so it is great to be able to offer something like this for them”
